It was a while before I realized that writing was art. I was an artist. I was a painter who searched inside the dark areas of life and drew out abstract art. The kids in my neighborhood found that my imagination could sculpt our cracked side-walks into strolls in Spain and craft housing projects into elaborate castles. I painted the sky neon shades and danced to music others couldn’t hear. Still, they danced along with me. That’s when I knew that I had a talent for storytelling. I could not only capture these magnificent tales of places I had never visited but I could include others  and they’d come along on the journey. There is nothing more magical than making others dream. I like to think that my craft is in the art of translation. I illuminate the hidden beauty of our world that many loose in the chaos of day to day life. I create pictures.
